Digital News: Story Change

After danny spoke to the agent for our freestyle footballer, he sent him an email to discuss things further but said he didnt feel that confident in us being able to link up with him as part of our news. We decided to try and look at other avenues we could pursue for a story. After speaking with helen we liked the idea of just having a female news sports channel and a quick bit of youtube research came with the response that there is definitely a gap in the market for this kind of thing. I had heard a radio show over the summer about Roller Derby and so i decided to look to see if there was a team in kent. I was fairly shocked to see there was and that they train in Chatham! After explaining a bit more about it to the boys and showing them the sight they liked the sound of it and especially the funny roller derby names. Danny mentioned he had a friend who might suit a sort of 'Roving Reporter style' and that he was a really funny guy who would handle the live situation well and could work for this sort of segment too. So Danny got in touch with him and myself and chris drafted an email to the roller derby girls and shall wait for a response.

To Whom it May Concern,

My name is Helen Welsh, I am 2nd year student at the University for the Creative Arts,
currently studying Television Production. I am the Producer of a new online channel for 16-25, focused on innovative sports around the area of Kent. I would like to know if we could do a 2 minute story about the Kent Roller Girls and what you do. We will be coming to you in Chatham for this project. We are really excited of being part of this unique sport and showing the local people about this exciting activity. If possible, we would like to have a contact number to discuss and explain more in depth what our aim is about. If you rather arrange a meeting with us, we are more than willing to come to you.

Kind Regards,

Tekkers Productions,

Helen Welsh, Danny Hewitt & Chris Sarmiento

Hopefully this will be the one!

Stay safe,

Helen
